A bunch of angry white folks held a rally with their unloaded weapons on display in a National Park (now legal, thanks to legislation signed by That Socialist President) and spoke to reporters about fears they had that the government would coming for them when they refused to buy (shudder) health insurance. "If I know I'm not going to get a fair trial in federal court ... I at least have the right to an unfair gunfight," former Alabama Minuteman leader Mike Vanderboegh said.Oh, you mean the guy who told everyone to throw bricks through the windows of Democratic party headquarters?
Hey Mike, don't feel like the first guy to ever want to exercise his 2nd amendment rights in the face of a repressive government. The Black Panther party for Self-Defense
You guys have a lot in common:
Defiant public shows of armed Militia members to show everyone you mean business
Strong belief that second amendment gives citizens the right to defend their neighborhoods against tyranny.
A strong belief that The Man is coming for you and you won’t get a fair trial.
In fact, their fears about gun control were more than justified and they took a page right out of your book was a militia formed in the 1960’s to protect African-Americans in Oakland from a repressive bunch of dudes known as the Oakland Police, and their pals, the Alameda County Sheriff’s department.
"This message was amplified when a small group of Black Panther Party members, led by Bobby Seale, designated chairman of the Party, marched into the California legislature, in May 1967, fully armed. Defined as protest against a pending guncontrol bill (which became the Mulford Act) aimed at the Party with the position that blacks had a Constitutional right to bear arms, the Party's message that day became a clarion call to young blacks. " (from "Rise of the Black Panther party"; Blackpanther.org)
See? They got the people riled up against the Gubbmint, just like you guys!
Unfortunately, in the late 1960’s, white people got really upset seeing angry black men waving guns around in civic buildings; it’s not like today. Sadly, things ended badly for most members of the Black Panthers; prison, gunfights and J. Edgar Hoover going all J. Edgar Hoover all over their ass.
You never know, you may end up actually being Marxists like they were.

If you read the rules for the rule allowing guns in National Parks and National Wildlife Refuges, in almost every case that's all you can do, carry it openly or concealed with permit, provided the state laws in which that part of the NP is located. In almost all, with the exception of Alaska and few other NP's and NWR's, it is illegal to withdraw or show it outside the holster and it is illegal to discharge it, even if self protection, including hiking/camping in the backcountry. And all weapons are illegal in all facilities (buildings, centers, etc.).
All you can do with a gun is show how big of idiot you are for endangering others with it and threatening to ruin everyone else's experience, especially foreign visitors, showing how America hates real freedom from violence and guns. And what's worse is that all the politicians who were against it as an amendment won't volunteer to introduce a bill to return to the rules implemented under and with the approval of President Reagan, of all people.
We have cowardly politicians who are afraid to really protect Americans, only appear to do so for their votes, and really are afraid of the NRA which is a small organization with a big gun.
